About Me

Hope for Healing

I am passionate about helping people to experience healing from the effects of trauma and chronic pain experiences. I count it as an honor to be part of a person's healing journey. Trauma is a personal experience, and I seek to meet clients where they are. I believe that healing is possible for many types of psychological wounds experienced in life.

EMDR Therapy

I primarily work from the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy approach, which is an alternative to traditional talk therapy. EMDR Therapy can lessen or eliminate the emotional disturbance of past traumatic memories by promoting healing of the whole person. Many people who have tried talk therapy without success have found this type of therapy to offer the healing they were seeking. I work from an integrative approach that incorporates various modalities that coincide well with the EMDR approach to support effective treatment.

PRT

I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, which is a therapy approach for people with chronic pain. This approach can also help those who have perfectionistic tendencies and put a lot of pressure on themselves. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a newer therapy that helps to lessen or eliminate chronic pain. I became interested in PRT as part of my own journey of chronic pain and have found it to be effective for myself and my patients. PRT is focused on feeling safe in your body and helps to decrease the amount of pressure you put on yourself. Treatment involves somatic tracking in which you allow and notice your body's discomfort in session without trying to change it or push it away. This helps a person to feel safer in their body instead of being afraid of the pain or trying to push it away. When you feel safer in your body, the pain is lessened or eliminated.
